A Healthy Alternative to Pizza

What if you could reallytruly enjoy one of the most delicious comfort foods, without carrying around that nagging guilt of over-indulgence?

Guess what? You can. And turns out, the recipe is actually quite simple and involves 5 simple-to-find ingredients at your local grocery store.

  • Cauliflower florets
  • Egg
  • Goat cheese (or any cheese really)
  • Oregano
  • Pinch of salt

I didn’t exactly believe it myself and I remained skeptical until I gave this recipe a try. I thought “who could ever feel satisfied if it’s not real, greasy, tasty pizza in all of it’s cheesy glory?” But once I did try it, I fell for it!

Although, sometimes I could go for a stuffed crust pizza…

You know the pizza I’m talking about…

Mmmmmmmmm…

Have to admit, this pizza looks just as good!

Give it a try and feel free to leave a comment and let me know how much you enjoyed it. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Enjoy!

  2. Thanks for sharing this healthy alternative! I LOVE pizza, but I don’t always love the calories that come with it. I agree that every now and then you need to indulge in a greasy delivery pizza, there’s something nostalgic about it, reminds me ordering pizza with my family when I was a kid.
I’ve always been curious about a cauliflower crust, and know I’m definitely going to give it a try. Maybe add some caramelized onions, honey goat cheese, figs… I need to run to the grocery store so I can make this for dinner tonight!

    Thanks for sharing!

  3. Good Morning Amanda,

I must say I have a profound love for pizza! In fact, I recently made my blog post about Pizza. Your post has me rethinking how I can not only enjoy my favorite food but do it in a more healthy way. First off I can say I love cauliflower, but I would have never thought to put it in pizza crust. Based on your blog this sounds like something I should try. Thank you for sharing this post! I am going to have to give this a try!

    Thank you,

    Angela
